Ngl. When I was a kid in the 70’s I recreated this scene the very next day after watching this movie. 😂 I was probably 9 and ate an entire can of beans with bread just because of this exact scene. 😂 that’s crazy. 👍

Back in this movie timeframe and circumstances, I was let go one day (ok fired) along with 400 other employees. I walked in to work that morning, and could feel it. I had already cleaned out my desk, leaving just a few 'personal' things on top. 90 minutes into the day, we were called into offices, 15 per office and officially let go. At the end of the meeting, I walked out, gathered my things off the top of my desk, went to my car in the basement garage and turned in my badge at the exit gate. Nobody else was even in the garage. I felt really good. Got 8 weeks of comp, found a short term job in 2 months then got laid off again and got over 100 weeks of unemployment., then qualified for SS. One more job and I officially retired. Sometimes it sort of works out, but I still felt for the people in this movie some who had been actually fired during the downturn. Sadly, tho at 2%, I'll never make the AA 10 million mile club
